Forteo
How does anyone afford it? Even with insurance, my cost was going to be $1041 A MONTH!! There is some "assistance" available, but only if your income is low. My income is not poverty level, but I still couldn't afford that!
I managed to qualify for the "Lilly Cares" program. I was told that after the inital couple of months the cost through Medicare Part D would be drastically reduced, but free is better!
Forteo, is indeed a extremely expensive treatment! I have been taking injections daily for one year now. My last bone density test showed significant improvement since 6 months ago. My insurance covers a big part of my treatment & Gross Adjusted Income covers the rest OR I could NEVER afford this treatment!!! Good Luck to All of you!
I began taking it in June. I have a $75 co-pay and my insurance covers the rest. It is expensive and I pray that when I go on Medicare next year that it will continue to cover it.
I Hope so I am waiting to hear what medicare will pay, or any help I have heard Medicare will Not Hope that is wrong. I am at high risk for fracture and have major teeth problems, so I cannot take the Boniva or those type drugs. I am currently on Evista, but have gone from -2.5 to - 3.5 Ugg
@A MyOsteoTeam Member I will be glad to let you know. I know that even though I have taken Forteo for a short time, I can tell that my back/body is stronger and I am making progress.
