try putting a bar on back wall and a bar that slips over the outside wall of tub and you screw handle till tight I have a cast iron tub and I can use the bars and use my feet to stand

My husband had both done and yes he takes awhile to get moving once he stands up, has to get up and move around after sitting for awhile as well.

mine done in 2012-2013 still have numbness on the sides had ex-rayed and they are fine learning to get up from sitting on ground gardening as I can't kneel I use a small pillow to rock my knees on to get up

My knee was replaced in Oct 2018. No problems. Sound like you need som PT.

Shower will do, don’t need a bath that badly to go to all that work. One day when I have spare money to renovate bathroom I will buy one of those walk in baths. 😀
