What Is The Difference Between FRAX And T Score?
T score is something you get from a Dexa scan that is administered in a hospital.
FRAX score is a score you get from a questionaire...based on your answers to the questions you can score your risk for fractures.
FRAX scores are based on age, height, weight, gender, family history of osteoporosis, whether you smoke or drink excessively, and your hip Dexa score. It calculates the likelihood of any fracture and a hip fracture in the next 10 years. There is an online calculator, or your doctor can calculate it. My results were 70% of any fracture and 6% of a hip. But the meds only reduce my risk about a third.
I have heard that steroids ....injections, anti inflammatories, and especially prednisone can weaken bones further. Sometimes it is the only choice for pain relief and you have to choose what is best for you. My Dr kept me on Mobic after my surgery for inflammation even though it is not good for the bones because it was more important to get the inflammation down.

They are two different numbers so test youself by answering the questions.
I was a 10 and severe osteosporadic and have a 2.8% chance of having a hip fracture within a 10 year period of time. So you have a 3.1 chance of a hip fracture over a 10 year span. My T score was -2.9 which is considered osteoporosis. ( anything over -2.5)
mine was all over 2.9 like 3.8 hips and you name it. On prolia shot at the moment no side effects
