Type 1 Or Type 2 Osteoporsis?.

A MyOsteoTeam Member asked a question 💭
Long Island, NY

i'm not sure what type of osteoporisis I have. Type 1 or Type 2? I was diagnosed with osteoporsis when i was about 54 years old post menopausal.

My first clue I had bone problems was when a surgeon would not operate on my neck She just said my bone were not strong enough that was 12 years ago. No one suggested Osteoporosis until 4 years ago after a bone density scan. Exercise is my friend and dancing is great

Thanks for that, StevieRae! Interesting as a shoulder surgeon wouldn't operate on my broken humorus - perhaps it didn't need it... though have always wondered if it looked just too broken. (I overheard a comment that it had shattered).. I'm just grateful as it healed well, I think regardless - did take longer. X-rays showed it had just started healing after 4 months. I now have full use of it!

Your doc should have told you. Excercise those joints & muscles, to help avoid any more breaks.
You may need x rays, & see an orthopedic expert. Don’t be alarmed, the surgical road is only a last resort.
