Do I Have To Give Up Golf?

I avoid yoga poses that bend at the waist. I modify any frontward bends by bending my knees. Somewhere I either read or heard that I should give up golfing due to the twisting involved in my swing. Thoughts on this? Anyone out there with osteoporosis in spine still golfing?

I was told not to golf, but I don't have a very hard swing, so I mày try. Also, I was advised to not bend over as in touch my toes (forming à U-shape). Sit ups and crunches were also a no-no. Check out Bob and Brad, physical therapists, on YouTube. They demonstrate why severe bends should be avoided and give exercise instructions that can be done with osteoporosis. My Dr told me not to hoover or play golf the twisting could lead to spinal fractures so I have given up golf and avoid hoovering now

I had lumbar surgery last fall and am doing yoga with lots of twisting.

Thank you for your input... how long (at what age)has it been since you were diagnosed with osteoporosis of the spine...I also have slight osteopenia in my hips...I am not taking any meds such as Fosomax...(tried it for a month and had painful side effects) instead doing light aerobic exercise, some weight bearing exercise and chair yoga, as well as taking camcouk , magnesium, and Vitamin D.
