Members rallied around someone whose family dismissed and mocked her chronic pain, validating that the pain is absolutely real and urging her to seek both medical help and counseling to cope with the emotional toll of being unsupported at home. Several members shared their own painful experiences of family members who ridiculed their symptoms or left them over their illness, with many emphasizing that mental abuse can be as damaging as physical harm and that no one deserves to be treated with such cruelty. A recurring theme was the importance of setting boundaries, seeking professional support, and surrounding yourself with people who treat you with respect and compassion, with many members celebrating that the original poster found relief after speaking with a doctor and receiving appropriate care.

Sometimes we can feel more lonely with the wrong person than being with no one.

Sounds like you also need someone that's understanding to talk to. After you see your general doctor, don't be afraid to seek out a counselor. They can help you deal with your family. Not fair they aren't supporting you!!

Have you been to your doctor and explained how much pain you are in. I'm sure they can help you with pain meds. Sometimes family and friends can be insensitive to what we are going through because to the outside world we look fine. We don't look any different so it's harder to understand. Go to your Dr or some other health professional and talk to them. We all understand what you are going through so let rip here if you need to. Take care
