You need to go through a proper grieving process for the life you expected. I know that sounds odd, but you have lost that life and you have to mentally and emotionally come to terms with that loss. Try to find someone you can really talk to, openly and honestly. It took me a long time to come to terms with. The old you has gone, you have to learn to love and accept the new you.

Are you being treated my a rheumatologist who has recommendations, in addition to the medications prescribed? Many women in my family had or have this, and I know how frustrating it can be to find something that provides relief.
I do know that nutrition is important, as some foods can really trigger flare-ups. Also, finding a place where you can have hydrotherapy (movement and exercises in water) was helpful for many. I don't know how long ago you had the "bad break," but you may have cracked a rib or two, and time will heal those. Depression can chase these events, so do get as much support as possible, and let your primary care physician know if your moods drop so much that it's hard for you to take proper care of yourself.
