Has Anyone With Osteoporosis Or Osteopenia Undergone Chiropractic Treatment?
An MRI of my spine shows that I have bulging discs in my lower back. This is causing me to have a good deal of difficulty walking, which is greatly impacting my ability to perform and enjoy day-to-day activities. Iām wondering if anyone in this group has tried chiropractic treatment for decompression of the spine. (I have been diagnosed with osteopenia and have declined to take medication for this condition.)
For what it's worth, I looked it up on Google. It said not to do so if you have severe osteoporosis. You could ask your care provider and also talk to the chiropractor. They do use alternative methods besides manipulation. Good luck!

I have gone to chiropractor regularly. Just be honest with them about what is going on
I have severe osteoarthritis along with the osteopenia so the chiropractor will not touch my spine
Hey,
I do chiropractic with a doctor who is NOT a bone cracker. He evaluates your vertebra on a computer screen and then uses a device that "clicks" your vertebra back into place. He also uses a massaging device. This works like a charm for me.
He does lazer treatment for my painful knees and right hand all have arthritis.
Insurance doesn't pay for the lazer treatment but it's not expensive and I don't have to do it that often.
Best of luck,

No, bad idea!
I took Fosamax and Citracal. Now after five years my xray shows that Osteoporosis is back to Osteopenia!
Is Chiropractor Care Off-limits With Osteoporosis? Does Anyone Find Relief From Massage? Thanks!
I Will Be Going Off Prolia After 5 1/2 Yrs. And Will Start Taking Fosamax. I Should Having Started With Fosamax First. Any Comments?
