I have been on it four years and my endocrinologist wants me to stay on it for five years before I take a vacation from meds. My last score was maintained in one area and a slight improvement in the other. The only thing I hate about this drug is that it causes major indigestion, even though I always follow all the instructions.
I will say my mother was on it 8 years and she broke a hip after. I think some meds are good but we should also not be on them forever. Don't think research has shown long term use to be as effective.

Not sure. I have been taking Fosamax. My spine is in bad shape but Zi exercise daily to keep my muscles in my back strong

Hi, I finally got to a dr. and she is ordering Evenity. I am still not walking much cuz of the pain in L3. I can't get dr. appt. till may for arthritis dr. Dr. are hard to get into to see here. Been almost three years on Fosamax and no side effects. It actually slowed my bone loss, which is great. I exercise every day and walk 4 miles every morning
