I am now taking collagen along with many other supplements recommended by Dr. Keith McCormick: K2 MK4, K2 MK7, NAC, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Curcumin, Boron, Magnesium, D3, Berberine,... too long to list them all. I was diagnosed 2 months with T score -3.5 two so won't know the affect of supplements until next DEXA scan after endocrinologist consult in 2 months. Miraculously no fractures so far but this could change I know. I enlisted an integrative health physician who can order a CTX bone marker blood test. Hopefully this will give me valuable information to help make future decisions.

Hi Marie, I just noticed your question about my DXA. I have trouble navigating this site as it seems to jump around and not always easy to find posts. I will have another DXA in November. If it's not covered by Canadian MSP I'll pay for one. In the meanwhile I had a REMS Echolight scan in Calgary Alberta, $150.00 CA, which was so worthwhile. The REMS provides a fragility score as well as BMD which DXA does not. My bone quality incredibly is still on border of green zone low fracture risk even though my BMD scores on REMS were spine -3 and hip -2.6. My DXA spine scan was worse at -3.5 but -3 is still nothing to celebrate. However, it was a huge comfort to see my bone quality is not terrible yet. Still I must continue doing everything to stop the bone loss. Is a private DXA scan expensive where you live. I'd recommend the REMS if you can locate one. I hope things are going well for you too🙂

Hi Debbie, how was your Dex Scan? Hope it improved I take almost the same combination.. I can’t get another scan till next year. Insurance won’t pay unless I’m on meds and that’s not happening anytime soon
Hope all is well
