Has Anyone Taken Bioidentical Hormones For Bone Density
I am 63 with bordeline osteo and am considereing bioidentical hrmones.. I'd love to hear what anyone knows or thinks about this treatment. thank you
Some GP's know about them. Most OB/Gyns know about them. Some endocrinologists know about them. Some drs. know about them but think it's hogwash and we are just growing old. Or so they told me. It's kind of a hit and miss. I'd start with your GP and then move on from there. My GP refused and laughed.
The other part is to find a pharmacy that mixes them. Not all pharmacists do it. Check your phone book and see if any of the OB/Gyns advertise it. That is actually who I heard about it from...one of the drs. I worked with who dealt in them. He has, regrettably, moved out of state.
Good luck. Just don't be surprised if you get a strange response from Drs. They can be jerks. I don't know of anybody who has used them that has not felt years younger and much better.
I have not started them yet but my sister-in-law has been taking them for about 8 months and her bones scan has improved dramatically.
Bioidentical hormones are natural hormone suppliers, like soy. They usually do a blood test to determine what you are low on and then the pharmacist compounds the things you need into a powder or capsule form. Really effective. We have doctors who specialize in it.
Never heard of these? What type of specialist did you see
I did great on bioidenticsl hormones. Make sure to go to a reputable physician who will test you properly. When I had to come off them, my health went downhill and I hsvd been in extreme pain ever since.
I never heard of this what type of doctor did you need to go to?
