Diagnosis And Medication
My number for my lumbar spine is 1.057 g/cm; T-score 0.1
Femoral neck is 0.591 g/cm2; T-score -2.3
My doctor has prescribed Fosamax.
When I read the paper work for the meds, I see it can cause problems (especially with stomach problems). I am on pantoprazole for GERD.
Beyond that, I have a stent and take blood thinners and take multiple medication for heart and bp and cholesterol.
I don't think I should take the Fosamax.
Any thoughts?
Thanks, Mdn
Educat. I've got barrett's esophagus & have been on Pantoprazole for prob 10 yrs! Gastro dr said I cannot have oral meds for my osteoporosis. They would burn my esophagus. I am being urged to take Prolia but am scared silly to start it. Good luck.
Hi Marianne...Dianne here....I was prescribed Formax also....my GERD doctor said NO!!!! I have lots stomach problems & Fosomax goes against it all....
I my be hard headed, but at age 68....I'm not going with anymore new Meds,!!!!!!! Take Vit D with Calcium & Folic Acid...
Take care...Gentle Hugs....😁😁
I had several teeth fall out after taking Fosamax.
I also to pantoloc for GERD , I'm on BP meds, cholesterol, various meds for pain, etc..
I was prescribed fosamax too but haven't taken it. The literature says not to take it if you have unfinished dental work or padgett's disease. I do have unfinished dental work and my father had Padgetts. My primary provider said, "Michelle, just take it."I'm looking for a new primary care dr as we speak.
Good question Marianne!!!!!
I had labs done, nurse called said Folic Acid low...said take 2 tabs. daily...My pharmacist said it had B12 in it...I know B12 is for heart & metabolism....
Anyway, I take it when I remember too...LOL...😁
Ok...have great day....take care....Dianne
