Had Anyone Had Dental Implants After Or While Taking Fosamax ?

A MyOsteoTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have been taking fosamax for 4 years and stopped 6 months ago . I have had a dental extraction of a molar and am wondering about implants.

Just to clarify. I’ve had no issues or noteable side affects on fosamax. The extraction was due to a dental abscess on a tooth which had root canal treatment over twenty years ago . The dentist says I had bone loss around the tooth but says it was likely from the infection. I’m a bit afraid of risking an implant.
I’ve just had a DEXA scan and have an improvement in bone density since the last one about 3/4 years ago even after 6 months off it.
It seems to be a very controversial drug! Grateful for any advice or feedback. 😎

Been taking Fosamax for 5 years. My periodontist suggested I stop taking it as I have bone loss in my bottom jaw and I lost two molars from this! I can not have implants due to bone loss.
