Hi Patti.
I get very fatigued and I often have a short sleep in the afternoon and sometimes I fall asleep after my dinner but I do try not to but I often just do it. It seems as if it's beyond my control. I read that people who keep active live longer but I fing it's too hard to fight this fatigue but I am 80 and I've recently had an accident but I don't like being stuck at home and not able to walk every day.
About the pharmaceuticals: I know of people taking the Bisphosphonate drugs for osteoporosis who have had really bad side effects like losing teeth and other things that weren't specified but they said they had to get off them and some said it was difficult getting off them so I don't want them, and they don't cure osteoporosis they just manage it.
They are supposed to stop people having fractures but I don't know if they do but I still don't want to take them as Ive had so much trouble with pain medication and side effects.
I do wear a morphine pain patch but its the weakest strength one, as I tried a higher strength one and it made me feel really ill, so I had to go back to the weaker one. I wish I didn't need it but as I get a lot of pain I have to have it, and various multi vitamins and minerals but everyone has to do their own research and make their own decision about what to take.
I can't afford to join a gym so you're lucky good for you and don't forget you need to do weight bearing exercise for osteoporosis.
Best wishes I hope this helps ❤️

I to have a lot of fatigue. Had a bad fall at the start of the pandemic with several fractures, surgery an hospital stay. I'm 78 now and haven't really been the same since. Don't seem to have the same strength. Walk with a walker now

On the fatigue question. I think there is an article on site with this subject. I know a lot of us here at different times mention the problem. Often taking naps. In general I think it's often mentioned rest when u need to, it's a good thing. I'm not sure it is always caused by OP or a certain med, but it can b. I have several medical conditions that include fatigue plus age, plus not drinking enough water, plus can b not eating etc. We need to b aware of how we r treating our body & do all the best things for ourselves. Another thing sometimes plagues us - stress & not being able to sleep, then being tired of course. Movement/walking is good too...get the blood flowing etc. And have some fun! Hugs. London ♥️

I too had a bad fall pre the pandemic I broke 2 ribs ,that didn’t heal and parted causing herniation of my lung leading to surgery to repair the ribs and to repair the lung herniation that as now returned !the repair to the ribs is fine ,but now need a walker to get about ,also have a yearly infusion that doesn’t heal old fractures or reduce pain but since having my second and soon third infusion I haven’t had anymore breaks and that’s a plus
