Calcium In Urine

A MyOsteoTeam Member asked a question 💭
West Nyack, NY

I just got the result of my urine test and the calcium is high.

CALCIUM/CREATININE RATIO
349 H
Reference Range: 10-320 mg/g creat
CREATININE, RANDOM URINE
28
Reference Range: 20-275 mg/dL

The nurse in my endo's officecalled me and told me that my number is marginally elevated. Things will start to improve once I go on an osteoporosis medication. The calcium has nothing to help it get in the bone so it shows up in the urine. DOES THIS MAKE SENSE?

Many of us also take VitK2 as it helps the calcium to move out of your blood into the bones. Only contraindication is if you take blood thinners.

Did you have your parathyroid hormone and calcium levels checked? If they're too high it could indicate hyperparathyroidism, and that's another disease that leads to osteoporosis.

Not recently. If it's PTH then I had that checked a few years ago twice. Thanks.
