How Often Is Recommended For A Bone Density Scan
I asked my doctor this week to be referred to have a bone density scan. She said no as I’m taking medication for my bones so there is no need for the scan, I’m on Risedronate sodium tablet once a week have been for many years. I’ve only ever had one of these scans when I got diagnosed with osteoporosis.
Can anyone tell me how often do you have a bone density scan, or where can I get the information on this please xxx

I’m Looking For Feedback Regarding Medications: Forteo/Tymlos, Prolia Or Reclast.
I’ve had multiple prophylactic surgeries to prevent cancer (family history is strong)
I was recently diagnosed with osteoporosis which my doctor considers “severe”, especially for my age (45)
She is recommending I begin Forteo/Tymlos, Prolia or Reclast in that order (she feels oral meds are second to injection/infusion due to absorption).
I’m concerned about cancer risk (although the doc says there is no concern for humans) among other things.
I’m wondering if anyone has experience with… read more

Osteopenia And Phenytoun/Dilantin
Earlier this week I was diagnosed with osteopenia in both my left hip and knee. I have read that phenytoin/Dilantin can cause osteoporosis. Have any of you had similar experience? What action(s) did you and your doctor take? Did you change your meds?
@A MyOsteoTeam Member,
I wish doctors could get their acts together! One says no arthritis, the next one says I have arthritis. 🤔
Prolia Injections

Do Compression Fractures Of The Vertebrae Really Heal?
I have been diagnosed with 2 compression fractures one of T7 and L4 over a year ago, T7 still causes me pain especially when I'm on my feet for extended periods of time and when I perform house cleaning jobs such as vacuuming and mopping floors. I work in retail so I have no alternative but to be on my feet for 7 to 8 hours a day. Everything I've read said they should heal within 6 to 8 weeks but I just dont that is my case. Any feed back is welcome!
Don’t sit for too long without getting up and moving about. Otherwise, I get too stiff to move! Rigor mortis.
Any Tips On Shoes?
I’m often wearing well supported gym shoes but today put on my Birkenstock sandles. They hug the feet beautifully but I can almost feel the jarring up my back walking.
Any suggestions what to look for with shoes when have OA & OP? Anyone use inner soles?
I got them at Foot Solutions. I cannot wear shoes that confine my foot because of the neuropathy, and I have to have a really good arch because of the plantar fasciitis, and I need a soft shoe to put… read more
Has ANYONE Been Happy On Prolia??
I'm a 72 yr old white female who had last dexascan 2 yrs ago. Left hip T score T-2.6. I'm terrified to have dexascan now as I'm afraid it's much worse. Just hoping to get some Prolia reviews that are void of horrible side effects.
Thanks for your input. I'm so sorry about your situation and can absolutely relate to your fears and frustrations. God bless.
I Was Under The Impression That Osteoporosis Did Not Cause Pain But That Seems Contrary To What I Have Been Reading On This Site.
It sounds like me you are in the UK I also have problems getting medications on time. When you think I am on the same meds. every month without fail so why do we have to order them every month. I… read more
