Clinical Trials

A MyOsteoTeam Member asked a question 💭
Olympia, WA

Hi everyone! I just jointed this group. Hoping to find out if anyone may have first hand experience with Zometa, "infusions" once every 6 months vs Prolia "shots" in the rump every 6 months. I had breast cancer in 1998 and again in 2020. Both times lymph nodes from each underarm were removed As I learned from my new oncology doctor once lymph nodes are removed you should never "poke". she explained that meant don't do infusions, draw blood, etc. from your arm She said that can cause edema (major… read more

Newly Diagnosed! Want To Start Good Calcium Supplement, But Which One????

A MyOsteoTeam Member asked a question 💭
Raleigh, NC

Being newly diagnosed with osteoporosis at 66, I’ve decided to try a good Calcium supplement first instead of meds (they all scare me). After researching online and reading here, it seems like the plant based calcium is the way to go, so I’m trying to decide between Aquaecal, Jarrow Bone-Up, Garden of Life Calcium Raw & OsteoMD. I don’t care about what they cost, I just want to start the one that is the best and has given others results. I’m having trouble figuring out which of the 4 is the… read more

What Treatments Are Any Of You Taking And Are You Happy With The Results?

A MyOsteoTeam Member asked a question 💭
Pipestem, WV

So far I've been taking various OTC supplements only - none of the many prescription treatments. My T score has moved from -5.0 in 2017 to -4.3 recently. My doctor now thinks I should start some treatment, but I'm hesitant because of the many potential side effects. I'm wondering if anyone here has been taking treatments and happy with them regarding side effects. I would like very much to hear what treatments and what level of success any of you are having that might influence my decision… read more

Thanks you Denise - I agree with you and actually I follow a similar routine, I just didn't mention everything in my original comments. May I ask your age and also what your T scores were originally… read more

When I Do Anything It Seems Like My Lower Back Hurts So Bad Is This Normal?

A MyOsteoTeam Member asked a question 💭
Knoxville, TN

I've never had back problems, but now no matter what I do my lower back feels like it is about to break. It doesn't matter if I just stand or if I am on my knees planting flowers, washing dishes. By the time evening gets here I am in so much pain. Is this normal for having osteoporosis?

Results On Prolia

A MyOsteoTeam Member asked a question 💭
New York, NY

Hi everyone
I've been on Prolia for 2 years & just recently had my dexa scan. Results were disappointing & my osteoporosis/osteopenia got worse. Anyone else have this issue on Prolia?

A MyOsteoTeam Member

Prolia also worked for me . Two years on and happy with improvement but now will take a break and try holistic approach for the next two years and check another Dexa scan .
